Bartrum Group said it had started to bounce back from the disruption caused by the pandemic after reporting an increase in turnover of almost 10%. The group, comprising haulage, warehousing and commercial vehicle maintenance, saw revenues increase to £28.8m in the year ending 31 December 2021, up from £26.2m in 2020. Bridgestone has launched a premium tyre and vehicle maintenance option for small and medium sized fleets, which it claimed would maximise their efficiency. Fleetcare Go Plan is described as an integrated offering, composed of premium Bridgestone tyres, vehicle maintenance and an intelligent interface powered by Webfleet telematics. Vision Techniques, a designer and manufacturer of vehicle safety systems, has recruited new staff in a move designed to increase its market share. Dave Prince (pictured) joins the firm as a sales executive and will help expand its coverage in the waste and recycling sectors. Amazon has defended its pay to employees after the GMB union said its warehouse staff will become the first in the UK to take part in a formal strike ballot.
