Hampshire waste management firm enters liquidation

Hampshire waste management firm South Coast Skips has entered liquidation.

Experts from FRP advisory were appointed to the Fareham-based company on 3 March and they are now in the process of winding up the business.

The firm had been trading for around 20 years and held an operator licence authorising 25 HGVs and two trailers running out of the Rudford industrial estate in Arundel.

The operator described itself as a “go-to waste management group” and covered Arundel, Littlehampton, Bognor Regis and beyond.

Its website said South Coast Skips ran a fleet of skip trucks, roll-on, roll-off vehicles and eight-wheel grab and tipper trucks.

Following a public inquiry before the traffic commissioner in 2016, the company had its licence authorisation curtailed from 18 HGVs to 14, but it was able to increase this up to 25 in August 2020.

The last available financial report for the firm showed that it employed 71 staff in 2022.

The liquidator was unable to respond as we went to press and no-one from the skip company was available to comment.
