Ian S Roger To End its Livestock Transport

Keith-based haulier Ian S Roger has announced it will bring its livestock operation to an end at the end of the May 2024 due to ‘spiralling costs, dwindling stock numbers and labour shortages’.

It was a tough decision, director Colin Roger explained to Transport News, because livestock had been the sector that started the company. However, the cost of new equipment, utilising the five-strong fleet and getting drivers proved too much.

In a public statement, the company said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers, past and present for the loyalty and support over the years. Thanks also must go to the drivers who have been on this journey with us.”

Colin confirmed that there will be no redundancies, and that the firm will focus on its general haulage business.
