Logistics UK to hold Virtual Transport Manager conference on 10 November

Logistics UK said it would once again hold a virtual version of its transport manager conference taking place next month, to cater for managers unable to attend in person.

First rolled out during the height of the pandemic in 2020, the business group said Virtual Transport Manager would cater for those who cannot travel to the event.

The virtual one-day conference will follow a similar format to the in-person events currently being held around the country and will provide information and guidance on current legislation.

Kate Jennings, Logistics UK’s director of policy, said: “We already have over 1,500 bookings for this year’s transport manager conferences, but we appreciate some people are unable to attend in person for one reason or another.

“However, it is still important for transport managers to ensure they keep up to date with the latest compliance and regulatory information, and as with the in-person events, Virtual Transport Manager 2023 will provide all the briefing information they need.”

The series of events include appearances by the traffic commissioners, an interview with DVSA chief executive Loveday Ryder and sessions on latest regulatory updates, the commercial vehicles workshop rating scheme, load security and a session by the metropolitan police commercial vehicle unit.

The Virtual Transport Manager event takes place online on 10 November, with in-person events already under way at venues around the country until 30 November.
