Wincanton boxes clever with defence contract extension

Wincanton has extended its contract with defence engineering firm Rheinmetall BAE Systems Lane (RBSL) that sees it supporting the manufacture of Boxer MIV fighting vehicles for three more years.

The contract renewal and expansion means Wincanton will continue delivering warehouse operations at RBSL’s warehouse in Telford, which also involves the upgrade of Challenger 3 vehicles for the British Army.

Wincanton, which has been working with RBSL since 2011, will also expand its services to provide design and implementation for additional offsite warehousing space, as well as customs clearance management and inbound control management.

It will also see the logistics giant more than double the number of staff dedicated to RBSL.
