Bartrum Group takes delivery of six new LSTs from SDC

Suffolk-based Bartrum Group has invested in a fleet of six new 15.65m longer-length semi-trailers (LSTs) from SDC. The family-owned freight operator provides non-hazardous and hazardous distribution services through the UK, as well as warehousing and a range of classroom-based training courses including funded driver training courses. Bridgestone impresses Hexagon Leasing to win major tyre contract

Bridgestone has forged a partnership with contract hire, rental and fleet management provider Hexagon Leasing to supply the company’s 3,000-strong fleet with its premium range tyres and a range of bespoke tyre maintenance services. Co-op and Starship launch robot deliveries in Bedford

The Co-op has begun the roll out of robot deliveries in Bedford in partnership with Starship Technologies. Getlink reports “very encouraging” pre-tax profit as Covid restrictions ease

Getlink, which operates the Eurotunnel cross-Channel service, said it had achieved “very encouraging results” for the first half of the year after reporting a €45m (£38.2m) pre-tax profit. It said the progressive lifting of Covid-19-related border restrictions for international travel had significantly improved the results and transformed the €127m (£107.8m) loss it made in the same period in 2021 into a profit.
